Great Organisation - very fast course!
1/10/2006 9:48:32 AM
Having competed in Duathlons right across Europe now I have come to the conclusion that the best events are those that keep things simple. I have raced in so many events where organisers try to be radical and make things far too complicated on the day of the race. This is usually done to try to justify a majorly inflated entry fee by the way! The best events are those which simply allow the competitors to race safely and concentrate on what they have trained for. The T2 events that I've done so far fit that bill exactly. They have simple, straight foward courses which encourage open, exciting and safe racing. Another characteristic of T2Events is the relaxed, friendly feel on the big day and this feeling is generated by the organisers attitudes twoards the sport as a whole. Probably the best measure of their success is that since competing in the two T2Events that I have, upon seeing others that were in the race we have so often recounted what a good day it was.

safe with minimal traffic

This was the 1st Duathlon I competed in and thoroughly enjoyed it. Venue was great, the race was well organised and the marshals were all friendly and helpful, above all the race was safe with minimal traffic. Will come again next year, but will be faster!

the event had a great atmosphere
17/10/2007 5:48:32 AM
This was my first T2 event, and only my third duathlon, so I was a bit nervous about it. I needn't have been, as the event had a great atmosphere. The organisers and fellow competitiors were friendly and it helped make the race feel really relaxed. It's a small enough race that you can talk directly to the organisers, while still being large enough to have a high standard of competition.
The course consisted of loops of a converted airfield, so there were long well-tarmaced straights - great for getting up speed on the bike. The course was not closed, but there was very little traffic, although I did get overtaken by a light aeroplane taking off on the runway next to the course! The marshalls were helpful and enthusiastic, especially the guy at the only 'give way' sign on the course who was quick to indicate when it was safe to go.
Overall it's a great race, and one that I hope to do again next year - hopefully a bit quicker!

The right balance between two extremes
30/5/2006 9:48:32 AM
I have competed in a number of duathlons over the past few years, both in the UK and abroad. These have ranged from the small and informal to the huge production-line type of event. I have, however, always enjoyed the races organised by T2 Events as they seem to find the right balance between the two extremes. Their web site is informative and easy to use, and e-mail queries are answered promptly. The organisation on the day is very effective, and volunteers (both those at registration and the marshals) are extremely efficient and helpful. I will certainly continue to race at T2Events.
